Asking your doctor is the best source, but I am a member of TOPS and it is suggested that you have no more than 1800 calories per day. 1200 if you want to lose excess body fat.

i heard that ur daily calories intake should be no less than 1200 calories a day..and need at least 30 mins of workout at least three to four times a week in order to lose weight…oh yea…drink a lots of water cuz water also help losing weight..cuz it make u full and so u eat less…less calories=weight loss…but less than 1200 calories can make u go into starvation mode which make weight loss slow down and when u normal again u’ll gain double…so overall..intake at least 1200 calories healthy food not junk food…active exccerise at least 30 mins three or four times a day…

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
    8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast – they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner – repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried – no junk food.
