You’re not losing 8-9 pounds of fat, you’ve only lost 8-9 pounds of water and muscle. So no, it’s not healthy weight loss. You won’t be able to maintain it, it’ll come right back on because your body will have the nutrients it needs to replenish its water stores and build muscle back up. 1-2 pounds a week is the only real way to lose weight healthily, because those 1-2 pounds a week are actually FAT.

I think that you should be ok, as long as you are constantly replacing your body with nurishments and vitamins. Now be careful, because once you stop eating right and exercising the weight will come back and quick.

how big are you? a lot of times when you start out bigger, initial weight loss is faster. I also think that when we start eating healthy our bodies lose a lot of water weight we were retaining from stuff like salt and booze (i know that was me anyways I lost my first 5 lbs giving up beer and bar food in the first week) make sure you are eating at least 1200 calories a day and taking a multi vitamin. good luck!
