It depends what you are eating the rest of the day. You need a good balance of carbs (55% of what you eat), fat (22% of what you eat) and protein (21% of what you eat). The options you’ve listed have a lot of carbs but if you’re not eating much carbs the rest of the day it’s fine. Plus some green vegetables would be good – lettuce doesn’t really count – it’s just water…oh and the breakdown I gave you only applies if you’re active. If you’re not working out, you should eat less carbs.
Perfect!!!!!!!!!!!Very healthy
those are great ideas, portions of rice should be small and use brown rice, pasta portion also small and wheat. use more of vegetables.
Sounds good to me!
so many carbs!!! i always try to omit them…i love them and all but just having the chicken breast over spinich and sauteed mushrooms or something is way better than the rice…..also, sandwiches, even w/o the mayo, are pretty high in calories and carbs considering what other sauces u have on it and the bread. and bread for subs are always so much! if want bread try pepridgefarm lite style bread…45 cal a slice and barely ne carbs and high in dietary fiber. salads may also be decieving considering what they have in them. and the shrimp and carb plater…..shrimp is low in cal but not the carbs!
healthy ideas: substitute carbs for veggie choices. like substituting the rice with spinich is always good! or if u want a club sandwich and NEED bread, then put whatever u would have in the club in a low-carb wrap. and try to save the pasta for once a week cheat days. grilled shrimp is good with corn or something on the side. o yea, and as for the salad, try to stick to a lite italian vinegrette…stay away from cheese, nuts and fruit in the salad. fruit = LOTS of sugar and carbs. nuts are crazy high in calories! these things are good for you, yes, but in moderation. a good salad would be one with boiled egg or lean chickn or tuna with cucumbers and tomato slices. (boring, yea, i know…but i never eat salad…yuck!)
Not too bad, really, but it’s a lot of meat. Meat has lots of protein, but also lots of saturated fat and cholesterol and is completely fiberless.
In place of meat a few meals a week, do your digestive tract a favor and eat some beans, nuts, seeds or soy products. They have protein, too, but are free of saturated fat and cholesterol and are full of fiber (especially beans).
